Since 2000 PRS Foundation has given more than £35 million to over 7,300 new music initiatives by awarding grants and leading partnership programmes that support music sector development. Widely respected as an adventurous and proactive funding body, PRS Foundation supports an exceptional range of new music activity – from composer residencies and commissions to festivals and showcases in the UK and overseas.

Joe joined PRS Foundation in 2014 as Industry Funds Manager to run flagship schemes including the Momentum Music Fund and the International Showcase Fund before moving into the Senior Grants & Programmes Manager role in 2015, where he led the Foundation’s grants team and worked strategically to plan and manage pioneering grant-making and partnership programmes.

Previously, Joe was Artist Development Manager at Generator North East - launching programmes such as The Tipping Point and Evolution Emerging – employing innovative approaches to supporting creative and career development of artists and those working to support talent, with a focus on industry progression. 

Career highlights include transforming regional artist development programmes, launching an impactful network of UK-wide Talent Development Partners in 2016 which has gone from strength to strength, achieving effective co-investment into talent from public funders, private sponsors and the music industry, and working within an exciting team to support a diverse range of music creators. 

Having advised thousands of artists and songwriters throughout a 10+ year career in talent development, Joe has a detailed understanding of the needs of emerging creators and those working to support talent behind the scenes.
